Privacy Policy

Your cloud data stays yours.

Last updated: 9 October 2026

HetzBOT is an independent iPhone application for Hetzner Cloud, developed by Emanuele Lacatena. It is not affiliated with Hetzner Online GmbH.

Data collection and third parties

HetzBOT does not collect personal data on a developer-operated backend. The iPhone app has no HetzBOT account, advertising or third-party analytics SDK. Your infrastructure information is retrieved directly from Hetzner Cloud to operate the console, not sent to a server controlled by the developer.

Hetzner Cloud API credentials

When you add a project, its API token is stored in the iOS Keychain. API requests are sent over HTTPS to api.hetzner.cloud for the operations you authorize. Hetzner processes those requests according to its own service terms and privacy policy. The token is not sent to the developer.

Older HetzBOT builds may have stored credentials in local application storage. Where supported, the app attempts migration to Keychain and warns you if secure migration fails. You can revoke a token from the Hetzner Cloud Console.

Infrastructure information

The app displays servers, snapshots, firewalls, networks, volumes, addresses, metrics and other data received from Hetzner Cloud. This information is used to present the console on your device and to execute the actions you request.

Data stored on the device

Project references, interface settings, schedules and relevant operation history are stored locally on the device. Credentials are managed through the Keychain. You can clear HetzBOT's local application state through its reset options; you can separately revoke Hetzner API tokens from the Hetzner console.

Automations

Schedules are evaluated on your device. iOS may suspend the app while closed or in the background. Local scheduling therefore does not guarantee execution at a specific time when the app is inactive. Missed operations are recorded rather than silently performing outdated destructive actions.

Demo mode

The built-in demo uses bundled example data and does not require a Hetzner account or send demo API requests to Hetzner Cloud.
